Things are still happening!!!

Sorry i've taken such a long break from house updates! things are still moving along and there are several more updates to give.

We took a break from house work and went on an amazing vacation to Greece.  We wanted to get away and celebrate the 17 month long process of house hunting, house buying, and house renovating. Here are some pics from our trip!

in small news, we've done some decorating for Halloween and finally installed a handrail in the stairs - or rather hired my handy friend to install it :)

also, we are starting to 'break ground' on the scary basement.  that is the major reno project in the works.

also, somewhat house related - we have a puppy! i'll give a quick tour of how we set up our home to welcome her.

She is the best sweetest pup ever!

Painting the stairs

Been a long time since the last post.  Here is a quick update of a project i finished a while ago. When we refinished the floors we had them only refinish the tops of the stairs because i planned on painting the risers and stringers.  I finally got around to it a weekend Jon was out of town. It was a much longer and more involved project than i anticipated but i'm very pleased with the result.

Garden Edge

we put in a nice little edge to the garden last weekend.  It looks SOOO much better to have that defined edge, i think it's the most dramatic difference in the space.

inside update

we are much more moved in now.  about 99.9% of our stuff is unpacked and placed where it belongs. The real accomplishment of the week was that we cleared out the garage enough for us to get both our cars in. It's still a mess - maybe i'll take a picture of it some day for you - but they are in and the door closes so i'm satisfied.

At any rate, i know the masses have been wanting more pictures of the place so, here are the photos you've been waiting for Mom!

front garden

Our cute little house has a pretty sad looking front view.  The house itself is quite filthy and the parkway and front flower beds were over grown and neglected when we bought the place.

Luckily Jon's mom is a gardening enthusiast.  She both pumps us full of advice on plants that would be happy in our garden AND actually offered to help do some work in our garden.

This week she became our 2nd official houseguest and got to work on the front bed and parkway.
